Morsel describes two connections that do different jobs: iCloud keeps the journal available across your devices, while Apple Health sharing connects selected nutrition and activity information. It is worth understanding the difference before troubleshooting a missing entry or granting access to every available category.

Keep the two connections separate

Journal sync and Health sharing are not the same action. Morsel’s onboarding explains that the journal syncs through your own iCloud. The same screen describes Apple Health as optional and says you choose what is shared.

If you are checking whether a journal entry appears on another device, think about journal sync. If you are checking whether nutrition or weight information appears in Health, think about the relevant Health permissions and data sources. Changing one does not by itself explain the state of the other.

Understand the intended sharing direction

The app’s supplied onboarding describes meals and water going into Apple Health, while activity and weight come back to Morsel. A permission for one category does not mean every category has been enabled. Review the requested access against the function you want to use.

These directions are the product behavior described in Morsel’s own screen. They are not a claim that every Health category is supported, and this guide does not assume a synchronization schedule or a specific troubleshooting button that has not been shown.

Review permissions in Health

Apple’s guidance explains how to review apps and their access from the Health app’s profile area under Privacy and Apps. Select the app to inspect available permissions. The exact options you see depend on the device and the app’s requested access.

If a figure looks duplicated or unexpected, review its data sources instead of changing unrelated categories. Apple’s Health data management guide also covers how sources are prioritized and how recorded information can be inspected.

Check a specific record

Choose one known entry or category to investigate. Confirm which app supplied it and whether the relevant permission is enabled. Keeping the check specific is more useful than assuming every missing value has the same cause.

Apple Health, iCloud and export are listed in Morsel Free as well as Pro. You do not need to buy Pro just to obtain the connections shown in the Free/Pro comparison. Photo logging, Insights and other advanced tools are separate Pro features.
