Privacy Policy
How Morsel handles your information.
Last updated: 19 October 2026
Who is responsible
Morsel is operated by Edi Sipka. This Privacy Policy covers the Morsel iPhone app and morsel.fit. For privacy questions or requests, email ino@morsel.fit.
Information you provide
Your journal can include food descriptions, quantities, nutrition estimates, goals, saved meals and recipes. If you use photo logging, you also provide a meal or label image for analysis. Optional Apple Health features can involve weight, activity, meals and water. Information in a food journal may reveal health-related details.
How information is used
Journal information is used to provide the tracking, nutrition estimates and optional features you choose. If you contact support, your email address and the information you send are used to respond to your request. Do not include sensitive information that is unnecessary to resolve your issue.
Claude image processing
Morsel uses Claude, an AI model provided by Anthropic, to analyse meal and food-label images. When you use this feature, the image you submit is sent for external AI processing to generate a food or nutrition estimate. Avoid including faces, documents or unrelated personal information in an image. You can use text entry or barcode scanning instead of submitting photos. Anthropic’s handling of submitted data is governed by the applicable service terms and processing arrangements; this policy does not promise immediate deletion or zero retention. See Anthropic’s Privacy Center for provider information. Contact us if you need details about the processing of a particular submission.
Apple Health and iCloud
Apple Health integration is optional. With your permission, Morsel can write meals and water to Health and read activity and weight. You can review or revoke those permissions in your device settings. Revoking access stops future access under that permission; it does not by itself remove existing records. Morsel supports journal sync through your iCloud account. Apple also processes information under its own privacy policy.
Analytics and website delivery
Morsel does not use analytics. This website is hosted by Netlify and uses Google Fonts to display its typefaces. Loading the website or fonts involves technical requests that can include your IP address, browser information and the requested resource. These delivery requests are separate from app analytics. See Netlify’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.
Purchases
If you subscribe through the App Store, Apple handles payment information under its own terms and privacy policy. Your subscription status is used to determine access to Pro features. Do not send payment card details to our support address.
Storage and retention
Your journal remains available for your use and, when enabled, iCloud sync. Support correspondence is retained as needed to address the request and meet applicable obligations. External services may retain technical or processing records under their applicable policies and agreements. We do not make a single retention promise for data held by Apple, Anthropic or the website hosting provider. Contact us to ask about retention or deletion for your information.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can review journal entries, change Health permissions and manage iCloud settings. For access, correction, deletion or other privacy requests, contact ino@morsel.fit. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, request portability, withdraw consent or complain to a relevant supervisory authority. We may need proportionate information to verify a request. Deleting the app alone may leave records in iCloud, Apple Health or another service; manage those records in the relevant service as well.
International processing and security
Apple, Anthropic, Netlify and Google operate services that may process information outside your country. Their applicable terms describe their processing and safeguards. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure. Contact us if you believe information has been exposed or misused.
Children and updates
If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review the situation. We may update this policy when the service or its data practices change. The update date appears above; material changes will be communicated where required.
